  2.                   Announcing the QuickSearch File Manager

  5.  What is it?

  8.  Two of the most frequent questions I get asked are: "Can callers upload into
  9.  a QuickSearch database?" and "Can I do file maintenance from a TBBS menu?"
  10.  
  11.  With the new QuickSearch File Manager program the answer to both of these
  12.  questions is an unqualified "Yes". It provides complete file management
  13.  capabilities; everything from a simple upload prompt into a single database
  14.  directory to full file management (Add, Find, Replace, Delete files) on all
  15.  directories in a QuickSearch database. Command line switches allow you to
  16.  enable/disable functions, privilege levels let you control who has access
  17.  to them, and a global security option lets you restrict the replace and
  18.  delete commands to only those files that a caller has previously uploaded.

  20.  And it's easy to use. Everything a caller can possibly perform is prompted
  21.  and a customizable online help file lets you add your own directions.

  24.  What can I use it for?

  27.  Any situation in which you need to create a database of text files that
  28.  callers will contribute to, such as a job database, an advertising
  29.  database, a realty database or a technical support database, to name a few.

  31.  And for situations in which you will be installing a database that needs to
  32.  be maintained remotely, either by yourself or by one or more callers, it is
  33.  ideal. It allows complete maintenance from a single TBBS menu command. The
  34.  functions provided allow you to:

  36.          - Add files
  37.          - Delete files
  38.          - Replace files
  39.          - List files
  40.          - Find files
  41.  
  42.  Commands work with both text files and binary file attachments. Batch files
  43.  allow the index to be updated rapidly during regular maintenance events.

  45.  And of course, once the files are indexed, you have the full text searching
  46.  capabilities of our boolean search engine to find and display or download
  47.  them. The File Manager program extends the capabilities of QuickSearch to a
  48.  database that callers can contribute to and that you, or other callers, can
  49.  maintain from a TBBS menu command.
